Dr. Stan Lubin
Dr. Stan Lubin originally completed a degree in philosophy and political science and worked as a teacher in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, before finding his calling as a doctor. He returned to Montréal to complete his medical training at McGill University, then moved west to British Columbia, where he worked as a general practitioner in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast for twelve years, doing house calls, anesthetics, delivering babies and working in the emergency. In addition to working in the US and UK, Dr. Lubin continued to further his education, completing degrees at the London School of Economics and at University of Hawaii. He also taught trainee family doctors at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver.

The Covid-19 pandemic was declared two weeks after he retired from medicine. relinquishing his medical license and hospital privileges. Dr. Lubin reapplied for them and volunteered his services during the pandemic.
Along with telling stories about medical life, many of which are in this book, he enjoys reading, travel, skiing, climbing, hiking, and squash. Dr. Lubin lives with his wife in Vancouver, Canada.
